Real Madrid to reignite interest in David De Gea next summer as 'Florentino Perez informs Keylor Navas of exit'
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in David De Gea next summer.
The Manchester United goalkeeper looked set to move to the Bernabeu back in 2015 but the deal didn’t go through after the necessary paperwork wasn’t sent on time.
Real have retained an interest ever since and De Gea, who is thought to be keen on the switch, is tipped to become the club’s long-term No.1.
And now it appears the switch could finally go through next summer.
According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol , Real will swoop for De Gea following the World Cup in Russia.
President Florentino Perez is reportedly desperate for the Spaniard’s arrival as a replacement for Keylor Navas.
And he is even said to have told Navas that this campaign will be his last at the Bernabeu.
Perez believes waiting until after next summer’s tournament will boost Navas’ price tag, if he performs well for Costa Rica.
Earlier this summer, the Real stopper thanked Zinedine Zidane for the support he has shown in him.
“I owe thanks to Zidane, and one way to repay him is to play as well as possible so that his decisions are backed up,” he said.
“Everyone likes that someone supports them when you are in a difficult moment, even more your teammates who are there day to day. Seeing that they never doubt you is something that motivates you.”
