Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy and wife Sarra announce birth of second child
Sir Chris Hoy and wife Sarra have announced the birth of their second child.
Cycling legend Hoy confirmed Chloe Rose Carol Hoy was born earlier this week, weighing 4lbs 14oz.
The news was confirmed on Twitter on Saturday, with Judy Murray and Gabby Logan among those sending messages of congratulations.
Hoy is a six-times Olympic champion and the second most decorated cyclist, with only Sir Bradley Wiggins ahead.
He announced his retirement from cycling in 2013 after more success at London 2012.
During the Games, Hoy became the most successful British Olympian ever with his sixth gold, a total that has now been matched by Jason Kenny.
Hoy and wife Sarra have a son, Callum, who is now approaching his third birthday.
The pair tied the knot in April 2010.
Sarra is an ambassador for Bliss, a charity which provides support for premature and sick babies after Callum had to be delivered 11 weeks early.
Discussing her husband, she said: “He’s just such a lovely, lovely dad to Callum, and he adores him.
“And I think he’s now, knowing how wonderful it is with Callum now, he’s super excited about this next one.”
